DESCRIPTION
Beginning at sunrise, Gathering the Light follows a young girl and her faithful dog through the rhythm of a day. She gathers the morning light, gives thanks, remembers the people she loves, and eventually releases the day's worries as evening approaches.
Written in lyrical verse by former U.S. Poet Laureate and Mvskoke Nation member Joy Harjo, the story encourages readers to move through the world with gratitude, respect, and care for one another. Rich illustrations by Anishinaabe artist Mangeshig Pawis-Steckley accompany this celebration of our connections to the natural world and to each other.

happy customers
"Love the rotating seasonal items and the consistent supply of specialty office supplies!! Jerrol's makes it fun to pick up page protectors-- if I happen to also purchase a chicken-shaped mug or gorgeous wildflower apron while I'm there as well, that's just a happy accident lol :)"
"In one quick visit, I was able to get help finding art supplies for a new project as well as order some new release books for my daughters for Christmas. It’s great to have a small business in town that can do all that!"
"What a fun quirky place. Art supplies, RC cars, and puzzles, yep! Need a coffee while browsing the vintage clothing, sure! Office furniture, yep! Need some university gear, they have that too! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area."
“I came in for something specific and left with exactly what I needed. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.”
