With weekly, monthly and annual layouts all in one place, our simple, straightforward design has stood the test of time. Hand-lettered, with ample room to write, the calendar isn't cluttered with unnecessary extras, but rather offers just enough to become an important record of the year's journey.
Our Story
Hearing customers of her small bookstore on the University of Oregon campus describe difficulty finding a high quality academic planner, co-founder Susan Gilmore partnered with Lindsay Pierce and Patti McMahan to create one. Operating out Lindsay's garage for the first several years, Mixed Role Productions began publishing the Aug-to-Aug Calendar in 1986. That spring Susan hit the road in her VW van, traveling the I-5 corridor cold-calling local independent retailers. Susan's daughter Margaret joined the team while still in high school and has never looked back.
An August-to-August planner (also called an academic year planner) is especially appealing to people whose schedules revolve around the school year rather than the calendar year.
