Corrie's Crafts: Mushroom Books

Corrie's Crafts: Mushroom Books
Got any old books laying around your house? Here's a clever way to upcycle it into something pretty for your mantle.

Supplies:
Old books (paperback)
Razor knife
Mushroom template
Hot glue
Paper towel roll
Scissors
1. This might be hard for some of you but start by ripping off the front and back cover of your books and breaking the spines.
2. Next find a template of a mushroom. I used a couple different shapes and sizes. Cut the mushroom template in half and trace it on the front of your book. Make sure the stem is along the spine of the book.
3. Now take your razor knife and start tracing your template...over and over again. This part is messy and takes some time, so put on your favorite audiobook
4. Trim off your edges with scissors...these don't have to be perfect.
5. Cut your paper towel roll to match the height of your mushroom book pages and hot glue the tube to the back of your mushroom.
6. Let things dry and then add some flowers, put it on your mantle and you are good to go!
